We performed an open operation of T-Trak at the Model Railroad Meet 2005 held at National Olympics Memorial Youth Center (NYC), Tokyo on May 2-3 (Mon.-Tue.) , 2005.
In addition to a T-Trak layout, this operating session was also composed of N modular layout for mainline trains, HO and O gauge layout. Both day blessed with nice weather, we enjoyed seeing a various kinds of modules and running trains in a spacious room.
T-Trak modules were arranged in a form that stretched long toward three directions with T-shaped and Loop modules. With about 70 modules extending more than 50m long, the scale of the layout was comparable to last year's JAM Convention.
All modules were connected to conform a large single oval with more than 50 electrically-separated sections controled by an ATC system. Though it took a train a several minutes to go around the oval, we could enjoy seeing various trains running one after another.
The proportion of new modules were relatively low, but every one of them was unique and conspicuous. Also, a lot of "old" modules were seen remodeled.
A variety of vehicles, from remodeled finished products to fully-scratched models, were seen. Their maintenance was excellent, running smoothly on a long extension of the track.
With many events such as plans of talk show, interviews, model competition, a drinking party at night and lodging at the venue, it was a very fruitful session. The sponsor was a newly-born one and premature, but we are expecting its future development.
